Case Study- Perspective Pictures- East London

  • A black and white photo of a video shoot in a studio with a man sitting on an ornate sofa, holding a game controller. A crew member stands nearby holding a water bottle, while a camera, lighting, and a green screen are visible.

Introduce yourself, and briefly tell us about the project we worked on together.

I'm Rupert. I run Perspective Pictures.

We're a video production company based in East London and we worked with the robot arm on our company ad shoot, as well as some spec filming.

  • People on a film set with a camera and a robotic arm, one person seated on a vintage armchair, and another person standing and holding a water bottle, in a studio with lighting equipment.

What specific challenges or needs led you to consider using motion control robotics for your project?

I think that the robot arm provides a very specific look. It's obviously very precise, which works really well and we wanted this kind of specific move where it would swoop in round from above me and out to in front of the talent. We wanted to create something that would catch attention and create something that would make people feel like, oh, I'm not really sure how that was done.

  • A behind-the-scenes look at a video shoot or interview taking place in a studio with professional lighting and a robotic arm, a man sitting on an ornate chair, and another man standing nearby holding a water bottle.

What was your experience working with our team and the equipment during the production process?

Working with Kirth and his team was fantastic and everything went super smoothly.

  • A man is sitting on an armchair in a photography studio, while another man stands nearby holding a water bottle. A large robotic arm is positioned above the seated man, and studio lighting equipment, including a large softbox, is set up to light the scene. A folding chair is visible on the right side of the image.

Would you recommend our motion control robot hire service to others? If so, why?

I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to achieve that specific within a relatively friendly budget and I thought that the whole process was quite smooth. I tend to get frustrated with stuff where production companies end up over, producing or bringing equipment that is slow and difficult to use or work but I actually found that the robot arm was very quick and kind of straight forward to use and I think it added a lot of value.
